Hypnotherapy for Anxiety

"Anxiety is a feeling of unease, such as worry or fear, that can be mild or severe." - nhs.UK

Hypnotherapy for Anxiety and Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD)

We all suffer from stress or anxiety from time to time, when we're doing something new or worried about a problem in the short term. In fact, at least one in 7 people in the UK are suffering from anxiety at any given time. A little stress can sometimes be a good thing and motivate us. That's fine when feelings of stress and anxiety are infrequent and brief but when they become prolonged and we start to feel anxious regularly or constantly, it becomes a problem.

Anxiety can impact so many aspects of our lives from mental and physical health, behaviour, relationships, work performance and social interactions that it can lead to a negative spiral that it can feel hard to break out of. Because anxiety can have such a wide-reaching impact it is perhaps unsurprising that the symptoms of anxiety can be so varied.

Symptoms of anxiety and GAD include:

  • difficulties sleeping
  • loss of concentration or forgetfulness
  • fast or irregular heartbeat
  • irritability, impatience or feeling overwhelmed
  • restlessness
  • muscular or inner tension
  • overthinking or catastrophising
  • headaches or dizziness
  • chest pain or tightness
  • faster breathing
  • nausea
  • weakened immune system
  • hormonal imbalance
  • irrational dread or fear of losing control

Talking therapies are immensely effective in reducing anxiety and giving you the tools to cope in stressful situations, avoiding anxiety overwhelm in the future. As a talking therapy, solution focused hypnotherapy is one of the most powerful and effective available.

Hypnotherapy is a natural solution and effective on it's own but can also be used in combination with anti-anxiety medication that may have been prescribed by your GP. Hypnotherapy works with your thoughts and actions to boost the beneficial neurotransmitters and bring balance to our brain and body-chemistry to promote calm and good mental health. As such, it can boost the effectiveness of anti-anxiety medication with the result that it may no longer be needed. (Please consult your doctor before deciding to start, alter dosage or stop any medication).

If anxiety is taking it's toll on your life and wellbeing and you're ready put anxiety behind you, then why not find your solution with Elaine Neale at Happy Hypnotherapy and book an initial consultation.
